Two arrested as £20,000 in cash found in Grimsby police raids

A raid on a house in Grimsby found £ 20,000 in cash.

Two people were arrested and cannabis cultivation was also exposed.

A 30-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on Wednesday at a house on Welholme Road on suspicion of possession for drug delivery and money laundering purposes.

Police found £ 20,000 in cash and cannabis in the same house.

The couple were released as part of the investigation.

Officials also discovered a cannabis grow on a flat Cromwell Road in Grimsby.

The crime scene officials were on site all night.

A Humberside Police spokesman said: “A man and a woman were arrested after officers from our Operation Galaxy team executed an arrest warrant on a property on Welholme Road in Grimsby yesterday.

“A lot of cannabis and £ 20,000 in cash was found upon entering the property.

“An arrest warrant on an additional property on Cromwell Road, Grimsby, was also searched, where officials discovered a cannabis cultivation.

“The 30-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession for drug delivery and money laundering purposes and have now been released pending investigation.”
