Three weeks of disruption for Bargate road works
Bargate in Grimsby is being reduced to one lane for three weeks to allow the work to be carried out.
North East Lincolnshire Council and its renovation partner ENGIE have announced that they will start work on the walkway and curb from August 2nd.
The contractors work daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and there will be a road closure to protect workers.

Further work will be carried out on August 20, which will include renewing the roadway, rebuilding deep carriageways, restoring road markings, rebuilding footpaths and curbing work.
This takes a week, with the work taking place overnight.
The road is closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. during this time.
During the closure, advance warning signs and a signposted diversion route will be set up.
Emergency access is maintained at all times.
Residents and companies within the plant area were informed and the access regulations were confirmed.
The program is subject to change and is weather dependent.
The work will be managed and monitored by the community’s remediation partner, ENGIE, with the contractor Specialist Surfacing Ltd carrying out the work.
The Council, ENGIE and Specialist Surfacing Ltd have said: “We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and assure residents that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible”.
