Pimlico Plumbers boss blasts ministers over GMB confrontations ‘Don’t give direct answers’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Last month, Charlie Mullins, head of Pimlico Plumbers, was embroiled in a heated debate over Good Morning Britain with the likes of Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid and a handful of other guests. The businessman joined the ITV panel to outline his case for compulsory Covid vaccinations for employees – something that is currently rife in Westminster and is even sparking conversation. Now the no-nonsense businessman has spoken about those who shy away from being on point on the show, as well as his own experiences on the small screen.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Charlie praised GMB for the heated style of interviews and debates.

While some viewers criticize Piers and Co for their company and sometimes boldly question it, it is an interview style that Charlie considers necessary.

“If there is one program that I will adjust to right now, it would be GMB,” Charlie began.

“Based on asking the right questions, they get the right people there and they don’t endure rubbish.”

He went on, “So, you know, they challenge people. And if things don’t add up or are wrong, then Piers Morgan is sure to be very quick to find out.

“I think it’s the only way to go forward with moderators who challenge the government to do it and, you know, really get the facts out, so we can have some understanding.

“Instead of being misled again and again by what certain other channels want to represent.

“I am all for the honesty and being direct and getting the correct answer.”

Talking about his own relationship with the GMB host, the head of Pimlico Plumbers continued, “I think we drink from the same teapot about certain things.

“But you know, I could go on there one day and run into him and I’ll accept that, I mean, it doesn’t mean he’s right. But that’s his opinion on it.

“I certainly have the feeling – I still expect that it will often be difficult (and) for me to come across someone who is completely going in a different direction.

“And I’ve noticed many times that you’re a million miles from the truth. You really don’t know what you’re talking about, to be honest.”

“You are a million miles from the truth. And I’m not sure if they know the truth or if they are trying to tell the truth.

“I think it is because a lot of it is common sense. And yes, it will always be controversial, and I don’t expect Piers or all of the moderators to agree with me, but we certainly have been drinking from the same teapot lately. “

Charlie concluded, “I think Piers Morgan is one of the best presenters we have on TV. You know, he makes it difficult for people and he’s inconsiderate, but I think that’s justified.

“I think we need more of this. I would love to see people be challenged more and the word is inconsiderate just to be with their guest.

“I enjoy the arguments and disagreements with many of the moderators and they ask us to come back so I think my opinion is valid.”

Good Morning Britain continues on ITV at 6am on weekdays.
