Met Office issues weather warning for thunderstorms and flooding in Lincolnshire next week
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for all of Lincolnshire next week.
It covers a period from Wednesday, June 16, 6 p.m. to Friday, June 18, 6 a.m.
It follows one of the warmest days of the year so far on Sunday, June 13th.
But the weather should break – and dramatically.
A yellow weather warning means that storms are possible for the next few days and could affect you.
The Met Office says you should plan ahead to take into account possible travel delays or the interruption in your daily activities.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Some locations are likely to experience thunderstorms later Wednesday through Friday, which can cause travel disruptions and flooding.
“There is a slim chance homes and businesses will flood quickly, with some buildings being damaged by floods, lightning strikes, hail and high winds.
“Floods or lightning strikes can lead to delays and some failures in rail and bus connections.
“Spray mist and sudden flooding could result in difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“There is a slim chance that some communities will be cut off by flooded roads.
“There is a slim chance that there will be blackouts and other services for some households and businesses.”
