With children splitting up for the summer vacation across Lincolnshire, it is feared that demand from food banks will increase tenfold.

We are told that because of the pandemic, people are struggling now more than ever.

The organizers say they expect 70 additional families per week.

“Pride is the biggest obstacle”

“We cried people on the phone when we told them we could help”

Captain Wendy Brown is with the Salvation Army.

She heads the Gainsborough Food Bank.

“Pride is the biggest obstacle.

“We don’t judge people, we don’t leverage, we’re here to help.

“We had people crying on the doorstep saying I don’t know how to say thank you.”
