Lincoln City team news vs Charlton: Michael Appleton makes three changes

Michael Appleton made three changes to his team in Lincoln City to play against Charlton Athletic in the play-off tonight.

The Imps, in fourth place, have already achieved a top 6 result and cannot end up below fifth place.

Charlton, the eighth, has to realistically win to keep his play-off hopes alive. If they do, they’ll be level on points with Oxford United in seventh place and one point behind Danny Cowley’s Portsmouth ahead of the final round of games.

Before the game, Appleton indicated that he would make changes with a view to the play-offs.

Tayo Edun, James Jones and Callum Morton step aside, Liam Bridcutt, Morgan Rogers and Tom Hopper drop out.

Alex Palmer continues behind an unchanged four from Regan Poole, Lewis Montsma, TJ Eyoma and Cohen Bramall.

Jorge Grant, Edun and Jones will be the three midfielders, with Morton flanked up front by Harry Anderson and Anthony Scully.

Defender Joe Walsh makes a refreshing return to the bench after an injury.

Imps: Palmer: Poole, Eyoma, Montsma, Bramall; Grant, Jones, Edun; Anderson, Morton, Scully.

Subs: Long, Sanders, Hopper, Walsh, Howarth, McGrandles, Rogers.
