Lincoln City pair Lewis Montsma and Jorge Grant ranked as fans vote on EFL’s top 50 players

Two Lincoln City players were named the best in the EFL following a fan vote.

Lewis Montsma and Jorge Grant are both in FourFourTwo magazine’s annual Top 50 player list.

The fans were asked to choose the best players in their opinion from their point of view.

Defender Montsma came on at 34, midfielder Grant at 24 on the list.

Grant – widely regarded as the Imps Player of the Season – isn’t the top League One player on the list, however.

This award went to George Honeyman of Hull City, who was ranked 18th.

Concerning Grant, FourFourTwo wrote: “Grant, a No. 10 technical, was a long-time lower division loaner from Nottingham Forest who only looked good in a flash, but he has had success since Michael Appleton made him a deep-seated orchestrator.

“Grant’s dead abilities bring in goals and assists and make him a candidate for the individual awards.”

Brentford forward Ivan Toney was named EFL’s Best Player.
