A husband stabber to terrorising a teen at knife point – the nine Northern Lincolnshire criminals locked up in March

It was another busy month at Grimsby Crown Court when nine criminals were jailed in March.

These include Joanne Singleton, who stabbed her husband 22 times in jealous rage, and Allan Dawson, who says he will never return to Scunthorpe after being stabbed for refusing to sell drugs.

David Wilson

David Wilson

Wilson, 32, from Scunthorpe, was jailed for 30 months after stealing items from a shop in Bridlington.

When officers came to arrest him, he beat one of them.

Lee Freeman, Humberside Police Chief, said, “I want to make it clear that attacks of this kind on anyone will not be tolerated. This includes our officers, staff and other rescue workers who expose themselves because of their work.” Increased risks every day to keep the public safe.

“Police are there to protect the public, and while they are always at risk in their duty and service to keep people safe, they should not have to endure or experience any form of violence. We never will Tolerate actions of anyone. ” Anyone who deems this type of behavior acceptable and always tries to take action and prosecute the people who commit such crimes. “

Jonathon Tams was jailed after stabbing his ex-boyfriend in the chest

Tams was jailed for two years after stabbing his childhood friend outside a Grimsby kitchen when he confronted him on naming claims.

Members of the public rushed to help Peter Fairbanks, who was “gurgling” blood from his chest.

Mr. Fairbanks had picked up some food from the food kitchen and was eating it on the street when he was confronted because Tams had mistakenly heard he had referred to him as a “nonce” to someone they both knew.

Tams pulled out the 7 inch knife and stabbed his friend.

Singleton was jailed after stabbing her husband 22 times in jealous rage.

The 49-year-old from Althorpe, North Lincolnshire, believed her husband Kevin was having an affair and confronted him at her home.

Then she stabbed him and a plan was made for her son Fox to hide the two knives in a McDonald’s case and wrap them in a tea towel before the ambulance arrived.

When Singleton was unraveling her life in a police car, she said of her son: “He was just looking for his mother. His mother and father fight so often and his mother gets a kick, he’s scared. I didn’t mean to kill him “I just wanted to hurt him. I could have killed him.”

Kevin Singleton has since forgiven his wife, but she was jailed for six years and eight months.

Fox Singleton was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, for helping a perpetrator on two counts.

Pecky’s blankets

Peckys is due to be deported for the second time in three years after being caught speeding and using a fake identity when stopped on the M180.

Officials tried to arrest him, but he managed to escape from the scene. Police were able to get a saliva sample that revealed a DNA match with Peckys, not the man whose ID he gave them before he escaped.

He was not found for another nine and a half months. Grimsby Crown Court heard him commit previous road traffic offenses and was deported in 2018.

Peckys was imprisoned for 14 months. He will serve up to half his sentence before being deported to Lithuania.

Nicola Baines was jailed for 25 months at Grimsby Crown Court for burglary to steal a sleeping 88-year-old woman

Baines was detained for 25 months after being caught in a Ring-type security system with an accomplice who broke into the home of an 88-year-old woman while she was sleeping.

The victim’s son-in-law received a warning on his cell phone and called the intruders through the system. They fled but were later caught by the police.

When she was taken to the Birchin Detention Center, the police discovered a small amount of heroin on her. She was jailed at Grimsby Crown Court in March.

Kyle Robertson

Graves and Robertson were jailed for their role in a horrific robbery in which their victim pleaded for his life with a knife to the throat.

The couple worked with Jessica Simpson, who lured the victim to an apartment on Grimsby Road. They told him to hand over his cell phone, and when he refused, they put a knife to his neck and stomach and filmed him forcing him to beg.

Then they took him to a nearby McColl store and told him to steal food and alcohol while they waited outside. The store staff became suspicious and the 17-year-old boy told them what had happened. Graves, Robertson, and Simpson fled but were soon caught up and passed the boy’s phone on.

Declan Graves

Robertson was jailed for seven years and five months and Graves for 18 months.

Allan Dawson

Allan Dawson was imprisoned

Allan Dawson was imprisoned

Dawson was stabbed to death by vicious drug dealers after refusing to sell for them.

The 44-year-old was attacked by two men in an alley behind Frodingham Road on September 3 last year. He said he sold drugs to friends to fund his own habit, but when asked to sell commercially he refused and was attacked.

When he was taken to Scunthorpe General Hospital, a nurse found the drugs and called the police.

Dawson was arrested and jailed for four and a half years in March.

Dennis Powley

Evil Powley was described as the “devil incarnated” when he told the mother of his young victim that her daughter had “filled a lonely void in his life”.

He admitted to the woman that he had sexually abused her daughter from the age of seven in a series of morbid emails.

Powley was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for six indecent assaults and two sexual assaults.

Judge Ahmed Nadim said to him, “You have taken advantage of and taken advantage of your innocence. The abuse you committed was well planned. You had significant emotional and psychological damage. It is understandable that she should see you as the devil incarnated, and I hope this brings the years of hardship she endured to an end. “
